Our under sixteens had a fantastic two nil victory against a spirited Gweedore United side last night, thanks to two well taken goals from on form, Shea Sweeney. To pick a man in the match out of one of these 12 lads would be impossible. Every one of them, and including young Mark McFadden, who who answered the call and was brought up to the squad, gave everything that they had.
With 10 minutes to go, we found ourselves with 10 men due to injuries, but the team kept plugging away and got their just rewards. Ryan in nets and the defence were outstanding to keep a clean sheet, and the energy levels from the whole team were immense. A fantastic effort by everyone, and thank you to Gweedore United for a sporting, fair, well contested game and to referee Seamie Ferry.
